GUIDELINES FOR WRITTEN CONTRIBUTIONS FULL PAPERS) PRESENTED TO THE THIRD LATINAMERICAN MEETING ON ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY (TLMEP)

This document is aimed at providing the keynote speakers and participants of Magister Round Tables with a view of the aspects that the Organizing Committee of the TLMEP has thought important for this scientific activity, given that the submitted papers will be included in the Meeting`s publication.


CHARACTERISTICS
The papers presented at TLMEP are supposed to describe results of scientific research.


The submitted contributions should be in-progress or finished studies. Speculative work, not supported by evidence, will not be accepted. So papers lacking a solid basis on empirical evidence for theory are not eligible for inclusion in the meeting's program.


These manuscripts should include theoretical or empirical studies that advance the understanding of important issues and methodological strategies that generate progress on the solution of social problems, common to Latin America or particular to some areas or countries.


TITLE
It should describe the main contents of the paper.


ABSTRACT
* Brief and factual summary including purpose, method, results and conclusions of a study.
* It ought to show the main findings of the study.


INTRODUCTION
* Purpose and important aspects clearly presented.
* Clearly specified central question and thematic


THEORETICAL SUPPORT (LITERATURE REVIEW)
* The theoretical status of the issue, with outstanding literature enclosed


METHODOLOGY
* Clearly explained.
* Hypotheses clearly established (when it is appropriate to include them).
* Research design matched with the study purposes.


RESULTS
* Charts, figures and clear tables.
* Properly discussed and interpreted


CONCLUSIONS
* Clear and logical.
* They should specify the contributions of the study to the psycho-environmental knowledge, the tools supplied and the contributions to problem solution.
* Updated references following the APA format.


SUMMARY OF FORMAT AND EDITING GUIDELINES

* MS Word 97 or latter
* APA publication format (6th edition) including references.
* Abstract, maximum 1.000 characters + spaces.
* 3 to 5 keywords.
* Manuscripts should be no larger than 20 letter size sheets (including abstract and references).
* Letter page format.
* Times New Roman, 12 point.
* Double-spaced.
* 2,5 cm all margins.
* Left alignment.
* First row indent (1 cm).
* Maximum 10 black & white tables and/or figures.

TIME SCHEDULE FOR FULL PAPER SUBMISSION
The deadline for initial full paper submission is August 22nd 2011.

The deadline for revised paper submission is October 31st 2011.

The full papers will be selected on the basis of a peer review process for which the major criteria are:

1. Relevance for the Third Latin American Meeting on Environmental Psychology (TLMEP), which embraces a high level of commitment with the preservation of the environment.
2. Scientific quality with regard to methodology, and underlying theory.
3. Clear research questions, convincing arguments, and coherent and congruent answers.
4. Innovative character of the approaches and/or findings.
5. Clear applicability to intervention programs for pro-environmental behaviors and/or resolution of environmental problems.
