Rarely is there an opportunity to study the fine structure of the herd tissue that forms as a result of an apexification procedure. A number of authors have described the shape, location, and radiographic characteristics of the root end after hard tissue formation; however, only a few of these authors have described the histologic components of the calcified material. The structural configuration has bee examined histologically but no whit the scanning electron microscope. This case provided us with a unique to evaluate a specific set of clinical procedures and the subsequent outcome as well as to carry out a histologic and ultrastructural analysis of the hard tissue that was formed over the apex.
